Giambattista Valli Couture Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
Roman fashion designerGiambattista Vallipresents a rather intriguing spring/summer 2015 couture collection, full of tulle and frothy skirts. Never does the famed artist miss an haute couture fashion week, and this year is no exception. The past four years have been well spent presenting the intriguing designs of an Italian artist with French flavouring. We can still definitely see an Yves Saint Laurent inspiration hidden in his designs, while the brand’s 10 years of existence is to be celebrated with aplomb.
Giambattista Valli dresses have been appearing quite a bit on the red carpet of late, with Lupita Nyong’o appearing as lovely as an African bloom in a purple ombre gown at the Golden Globes and Jennifer Aniston daring to try on something new and appearing at the premiere of “Cake” looking as spectacular as one is expected to look when having donned such a prestigious fashion house’s designs. Furthermore, Julianna Margulies looked positively breathtaking in a bright blue haute couture piece as she attended the 2015 SAG Awards, while Reese Witherspoon was spotted sporting a Giambattista Valli red hot top that stole the camera lens quite a bit. The brand’s haute couture is certainly one that’s been sweeping the red carpet and deserves good mention.
The skinny looks have been switching to flared designs, and it’s very clear that the fashion brand is following the trending lead. Flares below the knees have always been a thing for Valli, but now it appears that he can focus on bringing a new aspect to his collections: combining flared trousers with tulle midi skirts! The Giambattista Valli Couture spring/summer 2015 collection is all about creating a different silhouette and we are certainly seeing the ideas that have been building up in the designer’s mind come to life in rather breathtaking creations. The flared looks this season vary, from the frothy and fancy to the plain-looking and casual.
Looking at the Giambattista Valli Couture spring/summer 2015 collection, it’s hard to imagine life without having witnessed such incredible beauty. The pieces are stunning! Everything from the midi length tulle skirts to the creative combination of puffy skirts with flared trousers, Valli has certainly outdone himself. It would be prudent to take a look at the designs one at a time as well.
Each and every model has been given a fancy veiled headband to wear, with a large bow on top of the head. The veil itself only covers but half the face and underneath this slightly mysterious illusion, we can clearly see a very casually made-up face with a slight focus on the eyes and nude or light colored lips. We love the very elegant look of it all and enjoy knowing that the haute couture fashions are very much influenced by olden classic accessories.
When it comes to the footwear, Giambattista Valli has a rather delicate taste, preferring a pretty look over the shock factor so many opt for. Strappy heels certainly are a prominent look with most of the pieces in attire presented, while those with trousers are paired with closed-toe pumps. There isn’t much difference in the three pairs utilized, all coming in black coloring and ensuring the focus is placed on the actual designs instead.
The final showpiece of a white dress with embellished high collar, little sleeves and a defined waist is reminiscent of a wedding cake. There’s something rather intriguing about this dress with its frothy bottom and incredibly simple design. It’s almost as if a bride stands above the clouds, looking down from the heavens. We see white as a common color utilized throughout the show, while black is used to either accent or as the main block color. We do see some floral prints appear here and there, but they are kept minimal for the most part, instead the focus being on the A-line of the skirts that as often translucent and so very pretty to look at. The below-the-knee lengths seen are also inspiring as the elongate the legs, add a touch of demure purity to the form and accentuate the waistline that’s been cinched and often belted with a satin sash.
